"Is not the commission of our Lord still binding upon us?
Can we not do more than now we are doing?"
- William Carey
The Great Commission is stated throughout the Gospels and Acts: Matthews 28:19; Mark 16:15; Luke 24:48; and Acts 1:8. In light of these teachings, careyBSU seeks to mobilize students, faculty, and staff with a goal of sharing the love of Christ and the Good News of His salvation with all people.
Over the past years, we have participated in the planting of new churches high in the gray Andes Mountains of Peru, in church revitalization and support in Chile and India, and in sharing the true meaning of Christmas in Asia. We have partnered with local churches, associations, and others as we go and make disciples.
New partnerships are being built as we seek to minister in our own backyard, in the Mississippi Delta, where Carey students will work alongside teams from Connecticut and Texas to address Mississippi poverty and its lostness. Also, teams will be going to Northhamptonshire Carey Baptist Church in Moulton, England, to assist Carey’s church in reaching its neighborhood and surroundings.
Future projects include England, Chile, Peru and Asia.
