High marks in 2027 Niche.com report

William Carey University rose 30 places in Niche.com’s 2027 overall ranking of U.S. colleges and universities, cementing a place in the top fifth of four-year schools in the U.S.

Other nationwide honors included No. 10 in Best College for Education and No. 12 for Best Christian College.

In the state-level assessment, WCU ranked fourth overall in Best Colleges in Mississippi and received four No. 1 individual rankings: Best Colleges for Education, Best Colleges for History, Best Christian Colleges and Top Private Universities.

WCU ranked No. 2 in Safest College Campuses, Best Colleges for Nursing and Best Small Colleges – and No. 3 in Best Value Colleges, Best Colleges for English and Best College Locations.

“It’s not just that our team receives high marks from a respected national organization like Niche, it’s that they do it every year. It’s the consistency that counts, building on a strong foundation year after year to help students achieve the future they’ve envisioned,” said WCU President Ben Burnett.

Founded in 2002, Niche uses data from the U.S. Department of Education and other public sources to rank four-year colleges and universities. By far, the two largest factors are academics and value, which includes loans and alumni earnings.

Niche differs from other ranking organizations in its emphasis on reviews from current students and alumni. Here’s a recent sampling about WCU from www.niche.com:
