New and Current Preceptor Resources

Welcome preceptors!  You are a key factor in our students’ success and because of your participation and mentorship in our preceptor program, we want to provide you with these helpful tools to assist you through the process.  Review the resources below to help guide you along in support of our students’ learning.  Thank you for helping to shape our students’ futures as the next generation of pharmacists.

New Preceptor Orientation

We take pride in our preceptor orientation and our students’ education.  Our orientation enables our preceptors to access the necessary tools to contribute in making our program successful while helping our students thrive in a pharmacy environment.  We provide our preceptors with information to become familiar with our program, to receive helpful tips and to have access to resources and help guides.  We provide these resources so preceptors can use them to provide an excellent learning environment for our students.  The New Preceptor Orientation must be completed either live at our quarterly on-campus orientation or online before our students are placed.

Preceptor Development Training

We make our training easy and convenient for our preceptors.  A selection of educational videos and tutorials are available to view at their leisure, 24/7.  Take advantage of these training opportunities to gain enhanced knowledge while working with our students.   For details, contact the Office of Experiential Education.

Preceptors can stay on top of what’s new with the Carey Chronicle, the official WCU School of Pharmacy Preceptor Newsletter.  They can read about preceptor announcements and development opportunities, check out key dates and events, and review helpful program information.  Check out our latest edition.
