An Emergency Scholarship Fund (ESF) has been established at William Carey University to assist students who may find the cost of college prohibitive following a family emergency.

The ESF was established through the efforts of Hattiesburg businessman Wayne Ross, owner of Commercial Stationery Company, and other donors. Its purpose is to respond to student needs in the event of an emergency, such as a sudden death in the family or family health-related issues. These matters often cause students to drop out of college and sometimes never to return, said Ross.
