Office of Advancement

William Carey University’s main campus in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, took a direct hit from an EF3 tornado in the early morning hours of Saturday, January 21, 2017. Thankfully, there were only a few minor student injuries. However, every building on campus sustained damage, with some beyond repair.

Many residence hall students lost their personal belongings and have been temporarily relocated to other facilities. With overwhelming support from our community, alumni and other supporters, immediate relief has been provided for their personal needs. However, students will continue to have financial needs in the weeks to come as they begin replacing textbooks, computers, other school supplies, clothing, and making repairs to their cars. Right now, our greatest need is for financial contributions for the ongoing needs of students and the recovery efforts of our campus.

Two funds have been established to provide assistance for our current situation – The Student Tornado Relief Fund and The Tornado Damage Fund. Both of these funds will be used to address the immediate and future needs of our students, employees and campus recovery efforts. You can donate to either of these funds, or designate to the program of your choice, by clicking on the “Donate Online” button below. You may also give via U.S. Mail via the following address:
