I am originally from Waco, Texas. I competed at Connally High School. I have coached Speech and Debate at the College level for 19 years. I was an assistant coach at Wichita State University. I was the Director of Individual Events at Ball State. I also was the Director of Forensics at Kent State University. I have been the Director of Forensics at William Carey University for the past six years. I love my job!

Hello every one I'm Dedrick Gordon and I'm a sophomore here at Carey. My majors are Psychology and Speech Communication and my minor is Journalism. I got nominate for Class Favorite this year and I am graduate of West Jones high school.
Reggie Chapman is a Sophomore on the William Carey University Speech and Debate Team. He has seen multiple Final Rounds in his second year of competing including Quarterfinal rounds and Final rounds at the Pi Kappa Delta National Tournament. He is studying Speech Communication with hopes of becoming a Head Speech and Debate Coach. He currently serves as Assistant Coach at Hattiesburg High School where he has coached multiple national finalists in interpretation events. Reggie loves to sing, act, coach, perform and just have fun! 
My name is Deon Cummings. I'm a freshman majoring in speech communication. I'm from Kansas City, Missouri. My passion for Jesus Christ is the number one priority in my life. He lives, and he loves!  William Carey forensics is not just a team, it’s a family.
Cassie Lasher is a senior majoring in business administration with a minor in mathematics. She serves several organizations such as Carey Connections and the Society for the Advancement of Management. She is also a Resident Assistant proving that it is possible to be a well rounded student while competing for the Forensics team.  Never competing in Forensics before, Cassie joined the team during her freshman year at Carey. Over the years she has enjoyed the many the many accolades and benefits that come from learning and being a part of such a diverse team. Being about of the WCU Forensics team has shaped her into the successful student she is today. 
Melvin Richardson is a senior Speech Communication major. I have been on the Speech and Debate team for three years. I attended Laurel High School where I was on the Speech and Debate team there for four years. I am blessed to be a two time National Champion in Poetry and After Dinner Speaking at Pi Kappa Delta Nationals. I also am a part of the Housing Staff where I serve as a Resident Assistant in one of the residential halls. I served on the Student Foundation broad for a year. I am currently the Vice-President of the team. I love my school, I love my team, and mostly importantly I love Jesus Christ who's the head of my life. 
Molly Wilkinson is a junior Speech Communication major from Pascagoula, MS. She is also a part of the William Carey Student Ambassadors and a Resident's Assistant.  In any leftover time she enjoys reading, knitting, and coffee drinking. 
Graduated with high honors from Hattiesburg High School where I stood second in the nation on Hattiesburg High's speech and debate. I'm currently a sophomore majoring in Speech Communication at William Carey University with a minor in theater. I am also a member and Historian of William Carey's speech and debate team where I'm currently second in prose in the Southern Forensic Association Tournament. I am also a member of the Pi Kappa Delta organization and Nation Forensics League Association. 
Michael Chancellor is a senior Speech Communication major and president of the Speech and Debate team. He has been a member of the team for four years, and competed four years at Oak Grove High School. Michael has received a National Championship in Reader's Theater and 2nd place in Prose Interpretation at Pi Kappa Delta Nationals.
My name is Anane Palmer, and I am a 19 year graduate of West Harrison High School. I am a second- year Biology major, and an aspiring Forensic scientist- a decision largely influenced by one of my favorite shows, NCIS. I can always make time in my life are for God, friends, joy, laughter, happiness, kindness, and music. I value tradition and loyalty.  I take pleasure in making everything orderly and making those around me smile. My goal at WCU is to earn my Bachelor’s degree, while continuing to uphold the goals I learn as a privileged member of the William Carey Speech and Debate team. My philosophy on life is, the utmost for the highest. I apply this to my life by dreaming ambitiously & working assiduously; I encourage you to do the same.
Sean Floyd is a sophomore and a psychology major. I have competed in forensics since high school competing at Oak Grove In Hattiesburg, MS and continuing on here at William Carey. I placed top three in the nation in Congress at The Pi Kappa Delta National tournament last year. And I love having a good time with fun people. Oh and Thai food!
My name is Renard Elliott and I am a 2011 high school graduate from Pascagoula High School. While in high school I participated in activities such as: Football, Powerlifting, Key Club, Future Teachers of America and track. I now attend William Carey University and major in Mathematics and am a speech and debate team member.
Kristel Rodriguez is a freshman Business Major at William Carey University.  She graduated from West Jones High School.  Although this is her first year on Carey's Speech and Debate team, she is already starting to feel like part of the "Crew".  Besides being involved in Speech and Debate, Kristel is also a Carey Scholar, a member of the Student Government Association, and the recently elected Female Class Favorite for the Freshman class.
Jaylen Eashmond is a sophomore at William Carey and a speech major, theatre minor. I attended Hattiesburg High School where I was on the speech team there for two years. In that small period of time I won several trophies. 2nd at Emory University in Duo and a national championship in Duo at the NIETOC. I give everything that I earned to God because without his hand guiding me I wouldn't have made it this far.
Thomas Williams is a Junior who is a Speech Communication Major. He's been part of the Forensics team for three years. He is also a graduate of Hattiesburg High School's Class of 2010.
Kendell Waldrop is a sophomore on the William Carey Speech and Debate Team. He competed four years at Hattiesburg High School and won numerous awards. This is my second year competing at William Carey, and it truly is a blessing to have the opportunities that have been offered to me through this department and from God. I am extremely thankful. I look forward to my future at William Carey, and future successes that are in store for me.
Zelvin Winfield is a Senior Environmental Biology Major and president of Carey Jiu Jitsu. He has been a member of the team one year and competed at Laurel High School for three years. He is also is a Resident Assistant for the Housing Staff.
My name is Denardo Williams. I am a freshmen at William Carey university. I am a nursing major and a speech minor. I graduated from Hattiesburg High School. I participated on Hattiesburg Forensics Team for 2 years and in that short period of time I accomplished a lot of goals. In Dramatic Interpretation I was the first person from Mississippi to make top three at Harvard speech and debate tournament and I quarter finaled at the National Forensics League Tournament. Also, I'm a very goofy person.
Hello, my name is TaKira Laffitte and I am a sophomore majoring in Marketing and Management. I can say from my experience as a second year student here that I have enjoyed the college life that William Carey has offered me. It is a place where you can be involved in a great amount of activities. I myself am the Secretary and Debate Captain for the Forensics Team and I also belong to a host of organizations. There is never a dull moment being with this team. We encourage a family environment through loyalty, and dedication. I look forward to meeting and working with anyone wanting to join us.
