The Master of Education in Emotional & Behavioral Disorders will prepare teachers to conduct functional assessments and develop behavioral intervention plans, as well as implement, monitor, and instruct children and youth with significant emotional and/or behavioral disorders in educational and clinical settings as well as residential facilities.

Program Overview


Hours

This program is 30 hours and may be completed in as little as 15 months. This program begins each fall and winter trimester.


Delivery Method

Classes are fully online and are designed to be flexible and require no synchronous meetings. This program is ideal for full-time working professionals. William Carey uses Canvas as the learning management system for online coursework. Students will have the opportunity to build a portfolio of materials to use in day-to-day instruction.


Applicant Prerequisites & Requirements

Prospective students must:

Complete an online application & pay application fee

Submit official copies of all transcripts to Graduate Admissions via eScript or mailed from the institution

Have a GPA of 2.5 for the last 64 hours of undergraduate work or a cumulative GPA of 2.5

Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university

Hold or qualify to hold a Class A teacher’s license with an endorsement in Mild and Moderate Disabilities and provide a copy (license requirements may be waived if bachelors is in a related field)

Provide two recommendations from past or current supervisors

Non-education candidates must sign a waiver of a teachers’ license
