Students graduating with double majors, the ceremony you will graduate in is determined by the first major listed in your graduation degree audit.
The August commencement ceremonies will be held August 9-10. All ceremonies will take place in Thomas Fine Arts Building on the Hattiesburg Campus.

Graduates are expected to participate in their appropriate ceremony. If the graduate is not able to participate in his/her ceremony, they must complete the ‘Graduate in Absentia’ form. The preferred way to do this is via the student portal. The form is under the FORMS heading and ‘Graduate in Absentia’. The reason for the request and how the diploma will need to be distributed is required. Graduates have the option of picking up the diploma the week following commencement at no charge from the Registrar’s Office. Diplomas can also be mailed to the students a week after the ceremony if the ‘Graduate in Absentia’ form has a physical address. Payment of $5 for USPS will need to be provided by check, money order, or call (601)318-6195 and provide a debit/credit card. Students should receive a reply after submitting the form through the student portal.
