We invite you to the Annual Small Business Leadership Award Luncheon

The WCU School of Business, in partnership with the Area Development Partnership, hosts the Small Business Leadership Award Luncheon annually. The purpose of the luncheon is to award the Small Business Leadership Award to a deserving business in the Pine Belt. Funds raised from the luncheon will be used to provide scholarships for WCU School of Business students.

Luncheon Details

  • Date: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
  • Time: 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM
  • Location: WCU Tatum Court | 710 William Carey Parkway, Hattiesburg, MS 39401

The luncheon will feature a keynote address by Jonathan Jones, CEO of Jones Capital, a diversified investment firm focused on sustainable growth and strengthening the communities it serves. Since joining the company in 2003 after earning a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of Mississippi, Jonathan has played a pivotal role in its transformation from a family-owned business into a dynamic platform of middle-market operating companies and direct real estate investments. Under his leadership, Jones has expanded its footprint across multiple industries, fostering economic development and job creation.

A dedicated advocate for higher education and economic growth, Jonathan has made significant contributions to education, disaster relief, and the state’s broader business community.  Jonathan’s entrepreneurial spirit, unwavering commitment to Mississippi’s progress, and focus on long-term, sustainable growth continue to shape both Jones and the communities it serves.
