WCU Health Informatics earns full accreditation

The master’s program in Health Informatics and Information Management at William Carey University has achieved full accreditation. It is one of only 13 institutions in the U.S. with an accredited master’s program in health information management recognized by the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM).

Health informatics combines healthcare, information technology, and data analysis to improve how medical information is collected, shared, and used.

“Earning this accreditation shows that this online program provides high-quality education and prepares graduates for careers working with healthcare data, information systems, and health information leadership,” said Dr. Alicia Watts, director of Health Information Management.

“With both the undergraduate and master’s programs accredited, William Carey University is expanding opportunities for students who want to enter and advance in the growing field of health information and informatics.”

WCU’s related bachelor-level program in Health Information Management received full accreditation in 2018.
