University administration has instituted specific awareness and prevention plans which include the following:
• Sharing with students and employees that the U.N. World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) assures us that the likelihood of widespread Ebola is very unlikely.
• Encouraging the use of hand sanitizers in the cafeteria, academic buildings, administration building, gymnasium and other areas where groups may gather.
• Increasing communication with students, faculty and staff about the symptoms of the virus.
• Educating students and employees on preventive measures that are effective for all communicable diseases.
• Providing a link to the CDC website for up-to-date information regarding the disease.
• Providing additional educational efforts to all student groups who plan educational travel or mission trips.
• Providing housing during the upcoming school breaks and holidays for any international student who wishes to remain in the United States.
• Monitoring students or employees who travel to affected areas upon returning to campus.
