New Chapel

William Carey University has grown impressively over the past five years with record enrollments, new programs, and new facilities. However, a vital piece is missing from our campus — a chapel. Carey is currently the only institution of higher learning in Mississippi, whether public or private, two-year or four-year, without a chapel building on campus. We will rectify this omission with the construction of a small chapel on campus. Positioned adjacent to Chain Garden, the chapel’s presence will testify to the Christian mission of William Carey University and will provide an intimate place for prayer, devotion, and worship, as well as for recitals and small weddings. The sanctuary will hold approximately 100, so weekly chapel services will continue to be held in Smith Auditorium.

While over half of the needed $600,000 has been raised, your support is necessary to complete the chapel. Help make the chapel a reality by sending a contribution with the attached pledge card or by visiting and designating your gift to the chapel.

Your gift may be given in honor or memory of a loved one, mentor, pastor, or faculty member. Gifts of all sizes make a difference, and naming opportunities are available. Pledges can be fulfilled over a three-year period. For more information, contact Dr. Scott Hummel at 601-318-6497 or Give anytime by visiting All contributions to the chapel fund are tax-deductible.
