Connect Windows Computer to WIFI

Follow these instructions to get your personal Windows computer connected to the William Carey University Wi-Fi network.

If you are a student, you must activate your Indigo Student Account before logging onto the Wi-Fi network.

Please choose from the options below based on your Windows Operating System.

For users with Windows 8 or older

1. Right-click the Wireless Icon from your taskbar in the bottom right corner.
2. Select Open Network and Sharing Center
3. Select Set up a new connection or network
4. Click Manually connect to a wireless network
5. Click Next
6. Input the Network Name: CareyAir
7. Under Security Type, select WPA2-Enterprise
8. Click Next
9. Click Change connection settings
10. Click the Security Tab
11. Click Settings
12. Under the heading When connecting, make certain that the box for Validate server certificate is unchecked
13. Click Configure...
14. Under the heading When connecting, make certain that the box for Automatically use my Windows logon name and password (and domain if any) is unchecked
15. Click Ok
16. Click OK
17. Click Advanced Settings
18. Check the box next to Specify authentication mode
19. Click User or computer authentication
20. Click User authentication
21. Click Save credentials
22. Input your Username
    **Do not include "@student.wmcarey.edu" or "@wmcarey.edu"**
23. Input your Password
24. Click Ok
25. Click Ok
26. Click Ok
27. Click Close
28. Your computer should automatically connect to the appropriate network

For users with Windows 10

1. Click the Wireless icon
2. Choose the network: CareyAir
3. Ensure that "Connect automatically" is checked
4. Click Connect
5. Input your Username
   **Do not include "@student.wmcarey.edu" or "@wmcarey.edu"**
6. Input your Password
7. Your computer should automatically connect to the appropriate network
