Melanie Freeman

Bio

Melanie Freeman, MME, MT-BC is an Instructor of Music Therapy and the Clinical Practicum Supervisor. She received her Bachelors of Music in Music Therapy from William Carey University as well as her Masters in Music Education. She works closely with students while cultivating their growth and clinical skills in various practicum settings which include senior adults, elementary - high school students and adults with intellectual disabilities, communication and developmental disorders, and medical: pediatrics, oncology, hospice, palliative care and rehabilitation. Melanie serves on the Mississippi Music Therapy Task Force, advocating for music therapy services in MS and for state licensure. She is a Neurologic Music Therapy Fellow and is a member of the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA).
