Suzie Lassiter began her work with William Carey University In 2000 in the Psychology Department as an adjunct faculty teaching courses such as introduction to Psychological Statistics, Mental Retardation, Test and Measurements, and Classroom Management. She left the university for about ten years and returned in 2020 to teach in the Education Departments Special Education Program. Prior to working with William Carey, she worked with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health for thirty-three years. During her tenure with mental health, she served as a special education teacher, an educational evaluator at the Jaycee Evaluation Center, a program development specialist, Assistant Director of Ellisville State School, and Facility Director of both Boswell Regional Center and Ellisville State School. She spends her summers working with TEAAM at their Center Ridge Outpost Camp, which is a summer camp program for individuals on the autism spectrum. Dr. Lassiter has three daughters and five grandchildren. She enjoys spending time traveling between the states of Connecticut, Texas, North Carolina, and Mississippi visiting with family, and attending events such as birthday parties, music recitals, plays, and sporting events for her grandkids.
