June Hornsby, a native of Tylertown, MS, has been an educator for 35 years. She has taught third and sixth grades in Mississippi, Louisiana and Montana. She also taught reading classes at Pearl River Community College and at Ann Arundel Community College in Massachusetts. She taught at the University of Southern Mississippi and has taught graduate and undergraduate courses at William Carey University and served as Director of Field Experiences for 25 years. Her interests include reading, children’s literature, cooperative learning and art for teachers. June traveled extensively (Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, France, Monaco, Italy, Canada and Mexico) with her husband, Ben, during his career as a Navy Chaplain. She enjoys spending time with her family, her husband, her children, Benjy and Jena, and their families. Many sports events have been attended in order to watch her granddaughters compete in golf, softball, and archery.
