Candice Aycock retired from public education with nineteen years as a classroom teacher and six years as an administrator. Her entire career was spent at the middle school level in the Lamar County School District. Because of her love for middle school children, her research involved the intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development and unique needs of this age group and culminated with her dissertation entitled The Effect of Interdisciplinary Teaming on Student Achievement in Middle Level Schools. Candice’s professional interests include mentoring and supervising alternate route teacher candidates, teaching in the Masters in the Art of Teaching program, and directing the SMART (Science/Mathematics Alternate Route Teacher) Grant. She enjoys reading, traveling (especially camping), and spending time with her two children and five grandchildren.
