1.) The site of the first baptisms in Derby in 1791. 2.) Exeter House, where Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed on his way to being defeated at the Battle of Swarkestone Bridge in 1745. 3.) The Market Place. 4.) All Saints Church, now Derby Cathedral. 5.) The River Derwent. 6.) St Michael's Church. St Michael's Lane is a short lane that runs from the St. Michael's Church to the Silk Mill, and is where the Methodist Chapel was built which William Ward and his mother attended. John Wesley preached there on several occasions between 1762 and 1788. 7.) The Silk Mill. 8.) Behind these houses, to the north-west of the town, lies Willow Row, Nun's Green and the Gaol on Friar Gate. An area which saw the early activities of the Baptists in Derby. 9.) St. Alkmund's Church, where William's parents probably married.
