1.) The Gaol. Near to the Gaol the Baptists held their first meetings in a private room on Friar Gate. 2.) The Agard Street Particular Baptist Chapel, founded in 1794. 3.) The Brook Street General Baptist Chapel, built in 1802. 4.) Willow Row where the first Baptist sermon was preached on 31st May, 1789, by Rev. Dan Taylor. 5.) The Methodists moved from St Michael's Lane and built a new Methodist Chapel on King Street in 1805. 6.) St Alkmund's Church where it is probable that William Ward's parents were married. 7) All Saints Church, now Derby Cathedral. 8.) The' Derby Mercury'. 9.) Ward attended the Independent Chapel on Brookside. It was built in 1783.
