Note: This open letter was published in booklet form and was sold at the booksellers above. Hatchard's were booksellers to the King; Kingsbury, Parbury, and Allen were the official booksellers to the East India Company (also on Leadenhall-street); and St Paul's Church-yard was the centre of the book and newspaper publishing industry.

'BOSTON RECORDER'. The article in the 'Boston Recorder' of 1821 detailing the list of churches who donated to the new Serampore College during Ward's 3 month trip to America in 1821.

'ADDRESS' of the Derby Society for Political Information to their fellow citizens. Published after a meeting of the Society held at the Talbot Inn, Irongate, Derby, on 16th July 1792. and written by William Ward. Almost certainly it was printed at the Derby Mercury (although there is no imprint), it may even have been typeset by Ward himself.

The text was later reproduced in a London newspaper and the printer was sued for sedition at the Kings Bench Court in London. The case was successfully defended by Thomas Erskine (M.P. for Portsmouth) who speculated in court (wrongly) that it had been written by Dr. Erasmus Darwin.

A Grammar of the Bengal Language, by Nathaniel Brassey (1751-1830). Printed at Hooghly, 1778. A specimen of the earliest printing in Bengali. The punches of the font were prepared and cut by Charles Wilkins with the help of Panchanan Karmarker.

A Grammar of the Mahratta Language, by William Carey. Printed at the Mission Press Serampore, 1805. This is the first Marathi book printed in 'Devanagri' script. The preface on page VI Carey states that 'A grammar of this language was, indeed written, many years ago in the Portuguese tongue...'
