Sadlergate, with what used to be the offices of the Derby Mercury at the far end on the left. The Bell (a former coaching inn) is on the right. Irongate is at the far end. In the 18th and 19th centuries, coaches used to travel down Sadlergate to Ashbourne and Manchester.
