Moving Back to Campus
Students will move back to campus Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 18 -19. You will receive an email with a moving schedule and assigned time. All dorms, with the exception of Ross and Johnson, will be open. The Penton Street apartments also will be open.
Dr. Breland and the faculty are working on the classroom assignments for spring trimester. You will receive an email with classroom assignments and updates will be posted on the school website. At this time classes are set to begin Monday, Feb. 20 as originally scheduled.
The library has extended due dates for books borrowed from the Smith Rouse Library in Hattiesburg until after students are allowed back on the Hattiesburg campus en masse; therefore, please do not worry about being rushed to return any borrowed items at this time. There will not be any overdue fines charged.
WCU Libraries is now able to fill Interlibrary Loan (ILL) requests for articles once again. If you need an article to which WCU Libraries does not already have subscription access, then you can make your request here. Your article request will be delivered to you via E-mail unless we cannot fill the order, in which case we will let you know we were unsuccessful in our search. Unfortunately, we are still unable to fill ILL requests for books at this time.
The bookstore will be open Wednesday – Friday, Feb. 15 – 17 from 2 to 5 p.m. You may return books rented from the bookstore at this time. Park behind Lawrence Hall.
Parking on WCU Campus
During the week of Feb. 13-17, anyone coming to campus should park behind Lawrence Hall. A new entrance has been created across from Facilities on County Drive. Do not enter County Drive from William Carey Parkway as that area is open to construction traffic only. You may enter County Drive from Cherry Street or Edwards Street.
USM Classroom Assignment - Winter Trimester
An updated classroom assignment list was posted, Feb. 7.
Mail will be available for pickup in the lobby of Hillcrest Hall at Southern Miss on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. To obtain your mail you must email your Campus Mail Retrieval Request to Mrs. Lisa Madaris (email@example.com). Requests must include the following information:
WCU ID #
Campus mailbox number
Phone number in case we need to call to clarify details.
Please email your requests in ample time to ensure Mrs. Madaris will have time to pull your mail for you (ideally at least 24 hours prior to pick-up day). If you have more questions regarding retrieval requests, email Mrs. Madaris.

Registration for spring trimester has been extend to Feb. 3. There will be no late registration fees for spring.
The adjusted class schedule has bene posted on the school website. Students should also check Canvas for updates from their instructors.
Picking up your car
The university has towed cars to the parking lot of the School of Business and you may get your cars there. Cars should be removed from campus by Friday, Feb. 3.
Work Study Checks and Income Tax Forms
Work study checks can be picked up in Lawrence Hall. When arriving on campus enter through the gate on Cherry Street. Parking is available behind Lawrence, Polk and Bryant halls.
A message has been sent to all students receiving a 2016 1098-T with instructions for accessing your form.

Parking at USM:
Please register your vehicle with the USM Department of Parking Management, to avoid citations. Beginning Monday, February 6, Parking Management will write citations in all parking zones/areas.
Complete the online WCU Registration Parking Form.

- Handicap Parking /Curb Cuts
- Fire Lane/Fire Hydrant
- Service Area
- No Parking Area
- Obstructing Traffic
- Reserve Parking and Visitor Parking
Suggested lots for available parking:
- Ross Boulevard north/south
- Hillcrest Gravel lot
- Parking Garage
- The Longleaf Trace (located Northeast of the Service Road) parking lot is a reserved parking area, this area is not part of University controlled properties. The violator can be towed at owner’s expense, by the management of The Longleaf Trace.
Note to students: The Spring Trimester begins February 20 - All students will begin parking in their respective areas (I.E Commuter, Resident and Open Zones). This excludes all faculty/staff areas, which are outlined in lime green stripping. At the entrance of each parking lot there is signage, identifying the respective areas.

Message from the Bookstore:
The bookstore has extended the winter term textbook rental due date to 2/20/17. Winter term textbook rentals may be returned three different ways:
- Textbook rentals may be returned to the Southern Miss Bookstore. The Southern Miss bookstore is located in the Thad Cochran Center on the University of Southern Mississippi campus in Hattiesburg. Students should currently enter through the Hardy Street entrance and obtain a parking pass before proceeding to the bookstore. The bookstore is located on the back side of campus from the Hardy Street entrance. Rentals can be checked in on the second floor of the bookstore. Call 601-266-4381 for store hours.
- Textbook rentals may be returned to the Tradition campus business office from 2/6-2/13. Hours are 10am-6pm Monday through Thursday and 10am to 4:30pm on Friday. Closed 12pm-1pm for lunch.
- Textbook rentals may be mailed in via a pre-paid UPS label. The label may be generated by visiting www.wmcarey.bncollege.com. Select "textbooks", then "textbook rentals". Then "rental return" (its in gray print under the "shop now" link). Then enter your order ID# and e-mail address. If you do not know your order ID#, please send an e--mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will respond with your order number.
Currently, winter term textbook rentals may not be returned to the Hattiesburg campus. If you will have any difficulties returning your winter term textbook rentals, please e-mail me at email@example.com. Please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Ordering Spring Textbooks and Materials
Spring 2017 textbooks can be ordered at www.wmcarey.bncollege.com. Student financial aid can be used on this website. Orders will begin processing on Thursday, February 9th.
Textbook orders can be shipped to the Tradition campus or the Southern Miss bookstore at no additional cost. Tradition campus orders will be available for pick-up from 2/17-2/27. Southern Miss Bookstore pick-up orders will be available on 2/9-3/3. Please allow 48 business hours for processing and shipping.
The Southern Miss Bookstore is located in the Thad Cochran Center on the University of Southern Mississippi Hattiesburg campus. Currently, students should enter from the Hardy Street entrance and obtain a parking pass before proceeding to the bookstore. Call 601-266-4381 for store hours.
Textbook orders may also be shipped to a home address as well ($7.95 shipping per order).
