A professional and honorary music fraternity for women, Delta Omicron is open to music majors and minors who achieve its required academic performance and professional standards. Delta Omicron provides opportunities to increase leadership, service, and performance skills.
The purpose of the council is to establish goals, activities, and events promoting student and faculty involvement and interaction and to address important issues pertaining to the school. The council consists of the presidents and/or elected representatives from each organization within the school of music. Representatives are elected by each organization in the fall to serve the entire school year. Each group is represented by at least one member, with large organizations represented by one member for each twenty students in the organization. The music dean serves as an ex officio member.
MENC (Music Educators National Conference)
An organization for music education majors, MENC provides opportunities for increasing knowledge concerning the field of music education. Students are involved in opportunities at the local, state, and national levels.
SMTO (Student Music Therapy Organization)
An organization for music therapy majors, SMTO provides opportunities for increasing knowledge concerning the field of music therapy. It promotes opportunities and experiences for students in providing activities for persons with disabilities. Students are involved in opportunities at the local, regional, and national levels.
