Simulation and Technology Center
The WCUCOM Simulation and Technology Center provides students with the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning through use of clinical scenarios, procedural training and evidence-based practices in diagnostics, work-up and treatment on campus before working off-campus with patients in a practice-based setting.
The Center includes a simulation laboratory and standardized performance assessment laboratory that allow students to develop patient care abilities using medical mannequins, cutting-edge technology and both surrogate and trained simulated patients. Supervision, guidance and feedback are provided by outstanding faculty and experienced medical professionals. Students learn the science and art of triage, bedside care, problem-solving and adaptability. Additionally, the Simulation and Technology Center stresses the importance of communication skills, leadership, teamwork and inter-professional training.
