The William Carey University School of Music and Ministry is hosting the third annual "My First String Camp at Carey" from June 15 - 19 at the Hattiesburg campus.  The camp, a part of the FestivalSouth activities conducted in the Pine Belt area, offers Suzuki and elementary string classes for children from first to sixth grades in instruments including the violin, viola, cello and bass. No prior experience is necessary.  Students can bring their own instruments of rent one for $10. The registration deadline for the camp is June 5. The cost is $150. Join singer/actors from around the south for a week of intense musical theatre training experience that will include individual voice lessons for music theatre taught by WCU voice/musical theatre faculty, dance and stage movements, show and set design, and technical theatre.  Individual, duo and large group musical theatre presentations culminating in a live performance at Smith Auditorium in Thomas Fine Arts Center on the Hattiesburg campus of William Carey University.   Open to students who have completed 9th - 12th grade or one year of community college.  Contact the School of Music at (601) 318-6175 for more information.
