William Carey University officials recently announced the 2015-2016 Speaker’s Bureau, a list of Carey faculty and staff members available to speak at civic clubs, area churches and other special events.

The William Carey University Winters School of Music and Ministry will present Irving Berlin’s “Annie Get Your Gun” at 7 p.m. on October 16 in Smith Auditorium at the Hattiesburg campus and at 2 p.m. on October 18 at the Mary C. O’Keefe Cultural Center in Ocean Springs.

The William Carey University library system will hold a book sale at the Hattiesburg campus during the week of October 12.
Hours for the sale are 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. October 12-15 and 8 a.m. until noon on October 16. Prices begin at 50 cents for trade paperbacks, $1 for softcovers and $2 for hardcovers. Book sets will also be available for purchase. Only cash will be accepted.

The William Carey University School of Education will host an admission to teacher education roundup for students interested in becoming educators from 5 until 5:45 p.m. on October 5 in room 102 of Fairchild Hall on the Hattiesburg campus.

Dr. Ed Ford, an assistant professor of graphic design and director of the Lucile Parker Gallery at William Carey University, was recently named Carey’s 2015 Humanities Teacher of the Year.
As part of the award, Ford will present a lecture, “Analyzing Leonardo’s Design Methods,” at 1 p.m. on October 21 in the Fail-Asbury Hall auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

The William Carey University Theatre will present “Madness, Mayhem and Misery: An Evening of Chekhov Comedy” from October 8-10 at 7:30 p.m. and October 11 at 2 p.m. in the Joe and Virginia Tatum Theatre on the university’s Hattiesburg campus.

Devora Allen of Columbia, a senior business administration major with an accounting concentration at William Carey University, was recently awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants Education Foundation.

The William Carey University Lucile Parker Gallery will host an exhibit of art by Mississippi painter Marie Hull from September 22 until October 8.
The exhibit’s opening reception will be from 4:30 until 6 p.m. on September 22 at the gallery, which is located at 512 Tuscan Avenue in Hattiesburg.
