WCU School of Music Presents Opera Lite

Hattiesburg, Miss., October 8, 2013 - William Carey University’s Winters School of Music presented “Opera Lite,” directed by Kimberle Moon and accompanied by Timothy Dail, on October 3 and 4 in Smith Auditorium. The October 3 performance was a matinee attended by local elementary, middle and high schools. The October 4 performance was an evening production open to the public.

The program included four acts of opera comedy, featuring songs from Mary Poppins, Spamalot, Fifty Million Frenchman, Guys and Dolls, and Black Suits. Featured performers included Carlos Casilla of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, bass-baritone; Emma Grace Oberdick of Wadsworth, Ill., mezzo soprano; Carissa Read of Laurel, mezzo soprano; Ben Salters of Ocean Springs, baritone; Sarah Beth Sewell of Starkville, soprano, and Austin Williams of Carriere, tenor.
