WCU President Elected to Consortium for Global Education Executive Committee

Hattiesburg, Miss., October 8, 2013 - William Carey University President Dr. Tommy King was elected to the executive committee of the Consortium for Global Education (CGE) during the organization’s 26th annual meeting hosted by Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., September 18-20.

CGE is a non-profit organization with members and affiliate member from 43 accredited Christian universities and colleges located on campuses in 19 US states and three overseas nations. Each member is committed to a high value of quality academic learning and supports the internationalization of higher education through student and faculty participation. Every year, CGE helps hundreds of faculty members and thousands of students participate in CGE-related overseas study, service, and teaching programs.

“These are exciting days for CGE with our goals to make a significant impact globally through Christian higher education and to add value to our members in supporting their international programs,” said Dr. Carolyn G. Bishop, president of CGE. “We will appreciate Dr. King’s enthusiasm for international education, wisdom in leadership, and heart for students.”
