WCU to Host SMAA Watercolors, Pastels, and Sculpture Exhibit

Hattiesburg, Miss., September 26, 2013 - William Carey University will host a reception to celebrate the opening of “The South Mississippi Art Association Juried Exhibition: Watercolors, Pastels, and Sculptures” on Thursday, October 3, from 4:30 - 6 p.m. in the Lucile Parker Gallery located at 512 Tuscan Avenue.  The exhibit runs October 1 – 30.

The SMAA is an organization composed of Hattiesburg area artists who are interested in gathering together to further develop their talents and fuel their passion for art. The members share their artwork with the community through a variety of venues in order to increase awareness of the benefits of art. Featured artists for this exhibit include Jo-Ann Adams, Evelyne Breland, Gregory Carnes, Georgia Kay Carter, Lawrence Fothe, Greg Kelley, Shelana Kelly, Andrea Kostyal, Brooke Lane, Krista Lane, Francis A. Lee, Laura Lewis, Ricardo Moody, Ginny Parker, Amanda Spiers Sanford, Wade Stephenson, Susan Stevens, Dana Stratton, Vixon Sullivan, Adam Trest, Bobby Walters, and Ben Watts.

The reception and exhibit are open to the public. The gallery is open Tuesday – Thursday, from 1 - 4 p.m. or by appointment (601) 318-6192.
