WCU to Hold Donor Memorial Service
Hattiesburg, MS, May 12, 2014 - William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine (WCUCOM) will hold a Donor Memorial Service in Bass Memorial Chapel and Ross Anatomy Lab on May 16 at 2 p.m. The service will honor the lives of those who donated their bodies to the WCUCOM for educational purposes. The memorial service will begin in the chapel with a invocation, a welcome by President Dr. Tommy King, remarks by WCUCOM Dean Dr. Jim Turner and WCUCOM students, and an address by Anatomy Course Director Dr. David McWhorter. WCUCOM student Rachel Blancett will sing, accompanied by Biomedical Professor Dr. Randall Harris, and WCUCOM student David Buford will give a dedication prayer for the plaque.
The second part of the service will be held in Ross Anatomy Lab, and will include the hanging of the plaque, lighting of the candles by the WCUCOM Class of 2017, a moment of silence, and a benediction. Refreshments will be served in the lobby of the Medical Arts Building following the service.
