WCU Ensembles to Perform in Disney World

Hattiesburg, Miss., November 5, 2013 - Three ensembles from William Carey University’s Winters School of Music – the Grace Notes, Spirit of Carey, and Tuscan Reeds - will be performing in a concert in Downtown Disney of Disney World on November 14 at 5 p.m. They will also be marching in a parade on November 15 at Epcot Center at 10:30 a.m. On their way to Disney World, the groups will make a stop on November 13 and perform at Niceville High School in Niceville, Fla., and at First Academy in Leesburg, Fla. 

The Grace Notes is a traveling woodwind ensemble that plays a variety of classical, sacred, and contemporary woodwind literature, and Tuscan Reeds is a traveling saxophone ensemble that plays a variety of classical, sacred, and contemporary saxophone literature. Spirit of Carey is a high energy marching indoor brass and percussion group that serves as ambassadors for the university. These ensembles are led by Wes Dykes, assistant professor of music and coordinator of instrumental activities.
