CEO of Nicholson and Company Gives WCU Christian Leadership Lecture

Hattiesburg, Miss., October 17, 2013 - Carl L. Nicholson, Jr., CPA, president and CEO of Nicholson & Company, served as guest speaker for William Carey University’s Christian Leadership Lecture on October 16 in Smith Auditorium.

Mr. Nicholson received his B.S. in accounting from Mississippi State University. He has over 43 years of experience and manages the construction service division and litigations support of the firm of which he is a founding member. He also serves as a consultant on bonding, succession, planning, estate planning, acquisition of companies, and litigation support projects. Mr. Nicholson has testified in state and federal court as an expert witness on various business matters.

Mr. Nicholson is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Southeast Chapter of the Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts. He served as the first and only CPA in Mississippi appointed to the board of trustee of the Institution of Higher Learning.

He has served as chairman of the Area Development partnership, chair of the ADP Business and Industry Political Education Committee, president of the University of Southern Mississippi Foundation, and is a member of the Mississippi State Board of Health. Mr. Nicholson received the Distinguished Citizen Award by the Boy Scouts of America and was selected as one of Mississippi’s Leaders in Finance by the Mississippi Business Journal.

Mr. Nicholson and his wife Martha have five children and five grandchildren. They are active members of Parkway Heights United Methodist Church.
