Student Center taking shape in Hattiesburg
Since 2007, enrollment at William Carey University has doubled from 2,500 students to 5,000 students.
During the same period, the number of residential students at the Hattiesburg campus more than tripled – from 240 to 800. To answer the challenge posed by this growth, WCU broke ground on a new Student Center in spring 2019.
The three-story building under construction next to Thomas Fine Arts Center will include: large event and meeting spaces; study rooms and student lounges; computer labs, office space for the Baptist Student Union, Resident Life, Student Services and Information Technology; and a grill where students can pick up a hot meal and hang out.
The Student Center is expected to open in 2020.
