Physical Therapy students volunteer in Jamaica
Three faculty members, six students, and one physical therapy graduate spent 10 days this fall in rural Jamaica volunteering at the Friends of the Redeemer United Clinic.
As part of an annual outreach, they worked alongside students from physical therapy programs from Arcadia University and Misericordia University to help patients coping with spinal cord injury and stroke. Students worked on daily intensive interventions, made home visits, and helped patients return to their community by taking them to grocery stores, social events, and beach outings.
Taking part in the trip were: physical therapy students Aaron Bingham, Chelsea Nelson, Taylor Braddock, and Kelsey Hubbard, Dr. Ron Burns, Dr. Amy Parker, Dr. Judy Prehn, PT alumna Kelsi Weaver and PT students Jeremy Sims and Kelbe Callaway.
