Hattiesburg Area Daylily to Plant In New Garden at William Carey University
Hattiesburg, MS, July 29, 2008 - The Hattiesburg Area Daylily Society president Barbara Watts and other members will plant day lilies on the William Carey University campus in Hattiesburg Wednesday, July 30 from 7:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m.
The Hattiesburg Daylily Society has 165 members from 35 communities. Their Annual Daylily Show is held the first Saturday in June at the Lake Terrace Convention Center and has the largest number of entries in the nation.
The flowers will be planted in a renovated a garden in front of Johnson Hall Apartments which includes several raised beds, potted arrangements, and granite benches and tables.
Other sites the Daylily Society has planted include the Hattiesburg Visitors Center, Lake Terrace Convention Center, The University of Southern Mississippi, Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby, and Lynn Cartlidge Multi-Purpose Building.
