William Carey University will hold General Registration Day for the winter term at both the Hattiesburg campus and the Tradition campus in Biloxi on November 5.
Admissions personnel will be available from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. at the Hattiesburg campus and from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Tradition campus. Potential students who are unable to attend General Registration Day may contact the admissions office to schedule an appointment with an admissions counselor and a campus tour.

The William Carey University School of Education will offer the Elementary Teaching Assistant Academy, a program designed to help teaching assistants gain the additional qualifications needed to become licensed teachers, beginning in the summer of 2016 at the Tradition campus in Biloxi.

Dr. Ed Ford, an assistant professor of graphic design and director of the Lucile Parker Gallery at William Carey University, was recently named Carey’s 2015 Humanities Teacher of the Year.
As part of the award, Ford will present a lecture, “Analyzing Leonardo’s Design Methods,” at 1 p.m. on October 21 in the Fail-Asbury Hall auditorium on the Hattiesburg campus.

The first fully-equipped medical multirotor drone with telemedicine capability is the newest innovation from Dr. Italo Subbarao, an associate dean and associate professor at the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, and Guy Paul Cooper Jr., a third-year Carey medical student from Wheaton, Illinois.

The William Carey University Lucile Parker Gallery will host a special exhibit, “Selections from the Craftsmen’s Guild of Mississippi,” from October 13-29.
The opening reception for the exhibit will be held from 4:30 until 6 p.m. on October 13 at the gallery, which is located at 512 Tuscan Avenue in Hattiesburg.

The William Carey University Sarah Ellen Gillespie Museum of Art will host “Mississippi Masters: A Visual Conversation,” an exhibit of exceptional work by 20th century Mississippi artists, from October 5 through November 17.
The opening reception for the exhibit will be from 4:30 until 6 p.m. on October 8 at the museum, which is located adjacent to the Smith/Rouse Library on the Hattiesburg campus.

William Carey University has been recognized as an America’s Best College for 2016 by the Women’s Choice Award, a leading referral source for women.
Carey was ranked as number 27 of 1,585 institutions listed in the annual rankings of America’s best colleges and universities. The objective and quantitative rankings also placed Carey as the top school in the state of Mississippi.

A memorial service for Dr. Henry Pace, a pioneer of osteopathic medicine in Mississippi and an advocate and supporter of the William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine, will be held at 1 p.m. on October 9 in Bass Memorial Chapel on the Carey Hattiesburg campus.
