William Carey University to Dedicate New College of Osteopathic Medicine
Hattiesburg, MS, July 19, 2010 - On July 30 at 9:30 a.m. William Carey University will dedicate the Academic Building, Phase I of our new Medical Complex. An Open House will follow. Soon afterward, we will dedicate building two, the Medical Arts Building. A third building will be completed in December--The Asbury Administration Building. All buildings are state of the art.
We are preparing a release with details of the composite of the inaugural class of 108, their hometowns, etc., which will be released soon. Twenty-seven faculty members are ready to begin orientation on August 16. A very special White Coat Ceremony will be conducted in Smith Auditorium on Saturday, August 21, at 5:00 p.m. followed by a reception. The August 21 event is very significant as medical students receive their white coats representing their entry into medical school and ultimately into the medical profession.
We look forward to hosting members of the media at these two events: July 30 and August 21. A dream has been realized at WCU!
