Carey Grad Students and Faculty to Present Work at Mississippi Philological Association
Hattiesburg, MS, January 27, 2010 - Two William Carey University faculty members and four graduate students will present their work at the 2010 Mississippi Philological Association (MPA) annual conference February 19 and 20 at the University of Southern Mississippi.
Dr. Rebecca Jordan, associate professor of language and literature, will present her critical essay, “The Ebb and Flow of Misogyny in ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man.” Dr. Lori Fulton, assistant professor of language and literature, will present her critical work, “The Art of Fiction: The Faulkner/Hemingway Rivalry.” Both Jordan and Fulton live in Hattiesburg. Fulton serves on the MPA Executive Board.
Graduate students who will read at MPA are Jeanna Graves of Seminary; Leslie Susan Hammond of Mendenhall; Angelia Logan of Petal; and Tim Morris of Ellisville. Graves is the administrative assistant for advancement and public relations and Morris is the annual fund director at Carey.

The MPA hosts an annual conference for faculty and undergraduate and graduate students related to the linguistic sciences. Poet Angela Ball of the USM English faculty will be the keynote speaker.
