Wes Cameron, a native of Hattiesburg, has been an educator for over 30 years in various academic settings. Mr. Cameron teaches Music Literature, Freshmen Theory, Woodwind Methods, Finale software, composition, orchestration, and saxophone. Mr. Cameron has arranged music for local high school bands, USM, WCU, Mississippi Band Directors Association, and has served as an adjudicator in Mississippi and Florida. Mr. Cameron performs regularly with the Hattiesburg City Band and serves as organist for Heritage Church in Hattiesburg, MS.
Mr. Cameron has been published in the American Guild of Organists, the Ralph Vaughan Williams Music Society Journal (2015), and has choir anthems published through Hope Publishing Company and band works through Grand Mesa Publications.
Past awards include MMTA Concerto Division winner for woodwinds, Joe Barry Mullins Award, and Star Teacher Award recognized by the Mississippi Economic council. Mr. Cameron began teaching at William Carey in 1999.
