Kamal Abouzaid holds an MD degree from the University of Benghazi (Benghazi/Libya), trained as a general surgeon and practiced for sixteen years. He also earned his MSc in Anatomy, and taught anatomy to medical and dental students for four years at the University of Benghazi.
In the United States, Dr. Abouzaid joined the Graduate School at the Ohio State University, participated in teaching as a graduate teaching associate, and earned a Master, and a PhD degrees in Clinical Anatomy.
Currently, Dr. Abouzaid is an Associate Professor of Preclinical Sciences at WCUCOM, and the Course Director of the anatomy courses for the MBS and DPT programs.
His research interests include surgical application of hepatic bile duct systems as characterized by image processing and 3D reconstruction, and the application of novel technologies in medical anatomical education.
