Community Partners Program

William Carey Physical Therapy is inviting the community to participate in a Community Partners program. We are looking for community members with neurological or orthopedic conditions to volunteer as “patients” for physical therapy students in the classroom. Community Partners provide authentic learning for the students as the students get to know these “patients,” learn about health problems from patients’ perspectives, and practice clinical skills and assessments in the classroom with “real patients.”
Community Partners should be persons who enjoy the social aspect of working with students, the challenge of teaching students about life with a chronic condition, and who are willing to assume a “patient” role during physical therapy classes.
We are offering the first Community Partners spaces to William Carey faculty and staff, their family, and friends. If you or someone you know may be interested in volunteering, please click the link below and return the completed form to:
