Hurricane Katrina did severe damage to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and many counties north of the coastline. William Carey on the Coast—on the beachfront in Gulfport—was a total loss, and there was significant damage to the Hattiesburg campus. Fortunately, Donnell Hall suffered no damage, but completion of the building became delayed.
