Welcome to the Official Website for the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. With a population of nearly 50,000 and the fourth largest city in the state, Hattiesburg is centrally located less than 90 minutes from New Orleans and Mobile, the Gulf Coast and Jackson, Mississippi.
      For those visiting our website, we hope that you will get a feel for why Hattiesburg, the Hub City of the South, is a prospering region for economic development, education, the arts, health care, retirement, as well as a great place to raise a family.

Airports

Hattiesburg is served by a small local airport with limited Northwest flights out of Memphis but most major airlines fly into Gulfport-Biloxi, MS (1 hour) as well as New Orleans LA, Jackson MS and Mobile (AL) all 90 minutes away.

By Road

Hattiesburg is aptly named the 'Hub City' with Interstates I-20, I-55, I-59, I-10 and Highways 49 and 98 all within easy reach.

Driving Directions 

From South, Mobile AL via Hwy 98 to Hwy 49 or South from Gulfport on Hwy 49 Going North

 Drive into Hattiesburg on Hwy 49 you will pass the drive-in movie theatre on your right. Drive approx. two miles look for William Carey College sign and turn right at traffic signals at Helveston. Take Helveston through stop signs until you enter campus. Soccer fields and parking is on the left.

 From South, New Orleans, or Southwest (via I-10) by-passing New Orleans on I-59 Going North

Drive into Hattiesburg on I-59 and take exit 60 (signed William Carey College). Turn right off exit ramp onto divided highway. Follow road to junction with Hwy 49 and exit right (south). Go under railroad bridge then take left at next traffic signal onto Helveston. Take Helveston through stop signs until you enter campus. Soccer fields and parking is on the left.

 From North, Jackson MS or West (via I-20) into Jackson MS Take Hwy 49 Going South

Drive into Hattiesburg on Hwy 49 go past U.S.M. stadium and through intersection with Hardy Street. Continue over Broadway and under railroad bridge then take left at next traffic signal onto Helveston. Take Helveston through stop signs until you enter campus. Soccer fields and parking is on the left.

From Alabama via Meridian, Laurel on I-59 Going South

Drive into Hattiesburg exit right at Hwy 49going south, go past U.S.M. stadium and through intersection with Hardy Street. Continue over Broadway and under railroad bridge then take left at next traffic signal onto Helveston. Take Helveston through stop signs until you enter campus. Soccer fields and parking is on the left.
