6.09.08 Tough opening on road for Crusaders
Hosts St. Thomas were 6-9-1 in their first ever season and will come back stronger for 2008. Carey coach Nigel Boulton warned "We must be prepared for this stiff early challenge. Both teams are strong and will be all out to open their schedules with wins. We will certainly be tested with these games especially considering our poor road record last year. It is something we must improve on if we are to grow over the season ahead".

The
opening games of the 2008 fall season have been announced. The Crusaders
will travel over Labor Day
Weekend to face the University of Texas at Brownsville and hosts St.
Thomas of Houston (TX) in a two-game match-up. The Scorpions of UTB went
14-5-1 in '07 and were the Red River Conference champions.
