9.12.07 CAREY’s SPLIT-LOG NAMED GCAC AND REGION XIII DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

 Hattiesburg, MS- William Carey goalie Valerie Split-Log has been named Gulf Coast Athletic Conference and Region XIII Women’s Soccer defensive player of the week for the week of September 3-9. Split-Log, a freshman from Baton Rouge LA, helped the Crusaders to a 3-0 record on the week which included shut out victories over Lambuth University (TN) and Breneau College (GA) and a victory over #10 Auburn University Montgomery. Split-Log allowed only one goal and stopped 10 out of 11 shots for the week.The Lady Crusaders are off to a 5-0 start this season.
