CAREY WOMEN KNOCK OFF BRENEAU (GA), 3-0

Montgomery, AL-  William Carey University’s women’s soccer team capped of the GCAC/SSAC showdown with a 3-0 victory over Breneau College (GA) Saturday morning in Montgomery.

Danielle Princiotta put the Lady Crusaders up in the 10^th minute of play as she netted an Aimi Beresford pass to give Carey a 1-0 lead. Carey continued to dominate the action for the remainder of the half but failed to add another goal as Breneau’s Jenny England saved five shots in the half to keep things close.

In the second half Carey continued to press and finally broke through in the 70^th minute as Norma Velasquez added her first goal of the season to give Carey a 2-0 lead. Chelsey Chittenden capped off the scoring in the 88^th minute with a goal to give Carey a 3-0 victory. 

With the win Carey improves to 5-0 on the season. The Lady Crusaders return to action on September 14^th as they travel to Itta Bena, MS to take on Mississippi Valley.
