LADY CRUSADERS KNOCK OFF #10 AUBURN MONTGOMERY

Montgomery, AL- William Carey University women’s soccer team improved to 4-0 on the season by knocking off #10 Auburn University Montgomery 2-1 Friday afternoon in Montgomery. 

After the two teams battled to a scoreless tie at intermission, Carey was able to strike the first blow as Linda Garcia netted her second goal of the season in the 50^th minute to give the Lady Crusaders a 1-0. The Carey lead was short lived as AUM’s Riikka Brander evened things at 1-1 in the 60^th minute. But Carey proved too much for the Lady Senators and in the 68^th minute Jeana Erickson put the Lady Crusaders up for good with her fourth goal of the year with an assist from Chelsy Phillips.

Carey goalie Valerie Split-Log recorded 5 saves in picking up the victory.
