9.17.07 Statesmen Hold On Send Crusaders Home Empty Handed

The Crusaders fell to 2-5 on the season with a 2-1 loss at Delta State in Itta Bena, Mississippi, Saturday. Trailing to a 4th minute goal after the defense was caught square the Crusaders dominated possession in the first period eventually leveling the score on a Carl Reynolds strike just before half-time. Failing to learn from their mistake Carey's defense was caught hesitating again just two minutes into the second period allowing Simeon Xiong to dash between keeper Mapsen and Sean McNally to head home what proved to be the winner. The second period mirrored the first but the Crusaders failed to turn possession into chances and the goals that were needed to turn the game around.
