10.18.07 Crusaders Win Last Regular Season Game 4-1

Although going a goal behind early to visiting Spring Hill on Tuesday (10/16) the Crusaders changed tactics and soon led 2-1 on set-play goals from Jr. Jared Wooley and Fr. Carl Reynolds. Two second half goals from Fr. Brendan Connolly completed the scoring.

The Crusaders (8-10; 1-2) went into the final regular home game of the season determined to win their G.C.A.C. clash but trailed to a 5th minute goal after the Carey defense had given away possession. A tactical change followed to counter the Spring Hill formation and it soon reaped dividends as Jared Wooley headed home Carl Reynolds 21st minute corner-kick and then a Reynolds free-kick went in just a minute later to put the Crusaders ahead for good. The outcome was never in question once Brendan Connolly scored the first of his two on the night in the second half and then the same player finished the scoring with a powerful headed goal late on.
