11.27.07 SCHAEFER AND WOOLEY NAMED ALL-AMERICANS
The
N.A.I.A. recently named its list of 2007 All-Americans and included two of our
very own Crusaders. Christof Schaefer (left) and Jared Wooley (right) were named
amongst the All-American Scholar Athletes.
Junior Chris Schaefer from Waluf, Germany is a team captain and will graduate this year before returning for his senior year in 2008 while attending graduate school at Carey.
Jared Wooley, another junior, hails from Houma Louisiana where he played at Vanderbilt Catholic High School. He was the Crusader’s 2007 leading goalscorer with 14 strikes. Both players maintained a grade point average in excess of 3.5.
Crusader coach Nigel Boulton commented, “Chris and Jared are hard workers both on and off the field. They have plenty of skill but it takes more than just ability. They have commitment, drive and determination. They bounce back from adversity. They are amongst the hardest workers on the team. It is no coincidence that this hard work pays off on the field with their contributions to the team and off the field with their grades. They have been model students and we are looking forward to them having a superb senior year. They truly deserve this honor and are an example for their teammates to follow. I‘m proud to have recruited and coached them both”.
